LONE WOLF/SCRAMBLE-TEAM EVENT

THIS IS NOT A HANDICAP EVENT

1. Four man team assignments will begin at 7:00 a.m.

2. When your team is complete, move to the first tee and play away.

RULES

l. All “Par Hopers Rules of Play" will apply except:

NO MULLIGANS,NO GIMMIES,NO MAXIMUM STROKES

1. In a foursome:

a) One player will be the Lone Wolf on all nine holes.

b) The remaining three players play a “best ball” scramble.

2. In a threesome:

a) One player will be the Lone Wolf on all nine holes.

b) The remaining two players play a “best ball” scramble.

3. The Lone Wolf plays his own ball, counting each stroke, until completion of

the hole, while the remainder of the team is playing a “best ball scramble”.

4. The team score for each hole will be the Lone Wolf score plus the scramble score.

5. All ties will be broken using the formula found in “Par Hopers Rules of Play.”

The above rules are a “draft” of what we believe (to the best of our knowledge) were the rules used for last year’s 2023 Lone Wolf event. In last year’s Lone Wolf, we believe one golfer on each foursome was the Lone Wolf for all nine holes. That said, as far as we know, the “new” rules used for last year’s 2023 Lone Wolf event were never codified. The most recent codification of rules for The Lone Wolf event are dated 3/9/22 and last used for play during the 2022 season. These 2022 rules call for Lone Wolf responsibilities to be distributed amongst all four members of each foursome.

If the 2024 Par Hopers Board wishes to continue having one player be the Lone Wolf for all nine holes, then the “draft” of rules above should be considered for approval. If not, the board could choose to revert back to the 2022 rules approved on 3/9/22 (these rules are already codified) in which case no new rule changes would need to be codified. If 2022 rules are re-instituted, all that would need to be done would be for the 2024 Par Hopers board to “re-approve” the existing 2022 rules and freshen up the approval date on the 3/9/22 rules.

The “Rules Committee” for 2024 (Mike Durr and Robert Sunderman) recommend that

the 2024 Par Hopers Board review the rules approved on 3/9/22, compare them to what we believe were the rules used last year (see draft of rules above) and then approve whichever set of “Lone Wolf” rules the board deems appropriate for the 2024 season.

Respectfully,

2024 Par Hopers Rules Committee;

Mike Durr

Robert Sunderman
